Paphos - one-time ancient Greek and Roman capital of the island and now a UNESCO-World Heritage site - is a pretty port where modern amenities provide holiday creature comforts without diluting the wonder of the town's historic sites. Bars and restaurants line the picturesque harbour front, while palm-fringed boulevards and flower-decked courtyards exude charm and conviviality.

Day One

Fly to Cyprus, meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your Paphos hotel.

Day Two

Rest and relax in the hotel and its surroundings. The Paphos harbour-front bustles with life, while Ktima, on its rocky plateau, boasts a historic Turkish Quarter full of narrow streets and market stalls.

Day Three

Today's optional half-day guided tour of Paphos will reveal the extraordinary 'Tombs of the Kings' burial site, the famous Paphos Mosaics housed in ancient Roman villas, and the Byzantine Church of Ayia Paraskevi. There will also be an entertaining stop to see how Loukoumi - the Greek Cypriot version of 'Turkish' Delight - is made.

Day Four

Today's fascinating optional excursion visits historic Nicosia, island capital for more than 12 centuries. Divided in 1974 by the 'Green Line' separating Greek and Turkish Cypriot territories, the city is both a bustling metropolis, with a sophisticated cafe culture, and a fascinating gateway to the island's turbulent past.

You'll also visit the delightful village of Pano Lefkara.

Day Five

Relax in Paphos today. In addition to your hotel's facilities, the town has sights to see, shops to discover, and even nearby golf courses to tempt the energetic.

Day Six

Join today's optional excursion and journey beyond the political divide of the 'Green Line' into Northern Cyprus, occupied by Turkey since 1974. In this stunningly beautiful region of mountains dotted with ancient villages leading down to a tranquil coastline you'll visit Gothic Bellapais Abbey, made famous by author Lawrence Durrell, and the coastal port-town of Kyrenia.

Day Seven

Spend today relaxing or enjoy today's trip to the spectacular Troodos Mountains, which rise above the plains and the coast and which have been home for centuries to remote villages and religious communities, including several wonderfully decorated Byzantine churches.

Visit Platres, a popular winter ski station, and pass Mount Olympus, the island's highest point. Stop in Throni Park, burial place of Archbishop Makarios, Cyprus' first president, and ancient Kykkos Monastery, famed for its Byzantine Museum.

Days Eight-10

Spend the next three days relaxing, enjoying the winter sunshine and exploring the many attractions and activities the resort offers.

Day 11

Say farewell to Paphos, and transfer to the airport to board your flight home.
