Fly to Cairo. Coach transfer to your five-star hotel for the first three nights.
Enjoy a truly unforgettable day on our inclusive tour. See the wondrous pyramids at Giza, watched over by the mysterious Sphinx. Enjoy an included lunch, then make the short journey to the four-mile long, 5000-year old, burial site of Saqqara, home to the oldest of Egypt's step-pyramids, the astonishing, six-tiered tomb of King Djoser.
Visit Cairo's extraordinary Egyptian Museum, where the fabulous treasures recovered from the tomb of the boy-king Tutankhamun are just part of a breathtaking collection of artefacts from the Ancient World. This afternoon, pay a visit to Cairo's great Citadel to see its vast Alabaster Mosque and maze of colourful bazaars.
This morning transfer we fly to Aswan, beautifully set on the bank of the River Nile against the backdrop of the Aga Khan's great mausoleum. Here you'll transfer to your Nile cruiser, the magnificently appointed, sumptuous five-star MS 'Beau Soleil', your home for the next four nights.
After lunch you'll visit the extraordinary Aswan High Dam, which holds back the waters of great Lake Nasser, and see the fabled 'Unfinished Obelisk' in the nearby granite quarries. Later, take a motorboat ride across the Nile to the great Temple of Isis on the island of Philae.
This evening you'll cruise towards Edfu, travelling in luxurious splendour through a land and riverscape seemingly unchanged in centuries.
Early this morning, you'll take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the stunning Temple of Horus. Explore one of Egypt's best preserved relics of the Ancient World, before enjoying a visit to the colourful market. Back on board this evening, the captain invites you to a Gala Night on board.
This morning, you'll visit the awe-inspiring Valley of the Kings. Here, in 1922, Howard Carter and Lord Caernarvon discovered the sand-blocked entrance to the treasure-trove tomb of fabled Tutankhamun. Visit the Temple of female Pharaoh Hatshepsut, and see the twin 'colossi' of Memnon, which once stood guard at the entrance to a vast memorial temple.
Your final port of call is Luxor, once the ancient Egyptian capital Thebes. Cross to the river's East Bank to visit the colonnades and courtyards of Luxor Temple, and the staggering Temple of Karnak, where the vast columns of the giant Hypostyle Hall dwarf visitors.
Later, enjoy a final evening and dinner on board your cruiser.
Bidding farewell to the 'Beau Soleil', you'll transfer to the airport to board your flight home at the end of a truly unforgettable holiday.
