Fly from your chosen UK airports to Amsterdam, and connect with your overnight flight to Bangkok.
Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. This afternoon, enjoy a guided introduction to this wonderful city, starting on the Royal Island where the Grand Palace adjoins the Wat Phra Kaew temple with its Emerald Buddha. Nearby, the less formal Wat Pho temple is home to the gigantic figure of the Reclining Buddha, while Chinatown's Wat Traimit houses a five-and-a-half-ton Golden Buddha.
This evening, end your first day in Bangkok by joining our optional traditional Thai Dinner and Dance excursion.
Enjoy a day of exploration in this extraordinary city. This morning the optional khlong canal cruise takes you past the Grand Palace and into the labyrinth of waterways of 'the Venice of the East'. This evening there's the chance to view the city in its night-time splendour on our optional River Cruise dinner excursion.
Rise early to join our included excursion to the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak, where locals buy fresh produce, and to visit the 70-acre Rose Gardens where, in the surrounds of a traditional Thai village, you can witness displays of Thai Culture, Thai boxing, folk dancing and working elephants, and enjoy an included buffet lunch.
This afternoon you'll journey to Kanchanaburi, on the banks of the River Kwai, for a two-night stay.
Relax in Kanchanaburi, or join our optional River Kwai and the 'Death Railway' excursion, journeying on the train to Nam Tok Sai Yok Noi on the infamous route through the jungle. Lunch will be served, and there will be a chance to visit the various museums connected with this area's tragic history.
This evening, join our wonderful optional Thai Jungle Night Safari excursion to encounter elephants by moonlight!
After a morning at leisure you'll head to the picture-postcard resort of Cha-Am, set beside the blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Here, your beach-side hotel sits in beautiful gardens, and will provide a wonderful base for rest and relaxation over the next five nights.
Spend lazy days and balmy evenings making the most of this idyllic location, perhaps joining the optional excursions, which will include a visit to nearby Hua Hin, the favourite holiday resort of the Thai Royal Family.
After a last day in Cha-Am, transfer back to Bangkok Airport for the overnight flight back to Amsterdam.
